A comforting dish that brings family together with its rich flavors and tender meat, perfect for cold days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 kg beef (chuck)
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • onions (as needed)
  • garlic (as needed)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef by making deep cuts in several places to help the marinade penetrate.
  2. In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of mustard, 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup, 1 teaspoon of paprika powder, and salt and pepper to taste to create the marinade.
  3. Rub the beef thoroughly with the marinade, ensuring it gets into the cuts. Ideally, let the meat marinate for a few hours or overnight.
  4. Slice the onions and garlic finely and place them in the cuts of the marinated meat.
  5. Place the meat in a roasting bag or a covered pan and add 1 cup of water to prevent drying out.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (392 °F) and roast the beef for about 2 hours until tender.
  7. After 2 hours, remove the lid or cut open the roasting bag and let the meat roast for another 30 minutes to achieve a crispy crust.
  8. After cooking, take the meat out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
